The European Commission’s legislative proposal on front-of-pack nutrition labelling and nutrient profiles: challenges and opportunities [On-demand webinar]

Video-The European Commission’s legislative proposal on front-of-pack nutrition labelling and nutrient profiles: challenges and opportunities [On-demand webinar]

This presentation focuses on the European Commission’s legislative proposal on the introduction of mandatory front-of-pack nutrition labelling (FOPNL) and the setting of nutrient profiles to tackle the consumption of HFSS foods expected for the end of 2022.

The presentation highlights the need for the exemption of sports nutrition products from these regulations, stressing that sports foods are targeted at people who exercise and that these products are not HFSS. Also, the presentation analyses the results of ESSNA’s survey on the current use of FOPNL schemes across the sports and active nutrition industry and the challenges faced by the sector.
